At Coors, recycling is nothing new. It started in the 1950s, when Bill Coors determined that there had to be a more sustainable way to package our beer. He went on to pioneer the recyclable aluminum can, and it wasn’t long before others followed his lead. Today, aluminum is still the sustainable standard in the industry.
Spanning ten acres, the solar fields at our Irwindale, California brewery have the most powerful solar array at any one brewery in the country. Coors Light brews the equivalent of 22 million beers, powered by the sun*.
* Irwindale uses multiple energy sources to brew beer.
As of 2016, all Coors Light breweries are NSF International verified landfill-free, meaning more than 99% of everything we produce is either reused or recycled.
No matter how far we've come, Coors Light is dedicated to pushing sustainability forward. Because when your mountain is creating a more sustainable world, your climb is never done.
